We recently met with one of our approved installers to view the The Kingsbury Building balconies refurbishment project being undertaking at Horsell Road, Islington, London. Alu-Installations installed our complete non-combustible balcony solution, using AliClad Flow aluminium soffit cladding and AliDeck Junior Ridged aluminium decking boards.

As seen from the images taken prior to work getting underway, the pre-existing balcony materials had fallen foul over time through the effects of mother nature. The undersides of the balconies had become hazardous to occupants on the balconies below due to the timber undersides breaking apart and hanging precariously.
The solution was clear, refurbish the decking boards with a non-combustible solution in line with current regulations, while also future-proofing the balconies through creating an effective drainage solution that will channel the water away from the balcony surface and balconies below safely, preventing further risk.

The Complete AliDeck Balcony Decking Solution
As this project required varying build-up heights, we supplied Junior Ridged Decking Boards with low joists, lite joists, and adjustable pedestal brackets at 65mm and 85mm to create a flexible system to fix within the steel subframe.
These refurbished balconies will benefit from far greater longevity and durability thanks to AliDeck’s aluminium decking and balcony components, the toughest metal pound-for-pound. The balconies will also provide a future-proof outdoor living space our extensive range of products all benefit from a minimum 60-year life expectancy and are highly resilient against the elements.
