AliDeck’s Lite Board V1 is a cost-effective, low-profile, entry-level decking board that offers all the same product features as our Senior and Junior Decking Boards. For this project, it was supplied in 4m & 6m lengths, along with some custom extrusions to avoid unnecessary wasted materials or labour on-site. The Lite Board offers steel fabricators and balcony manufacturers fast, hassle-free installation times, a robust fully aluminium construction, 30 year warranty.

One of the key challenges facing developers and architects in this area is the need to find materials and solutions that are both safe and sustainable. Aluminium decking and balcony component solutions offer a number of advantages in this regard, as they are non-combustible, meeting the requirements of the latest fire safety regulations.

Once powder-coated, all of our products and systems are A2-s1, d0 and A2fl-s1 Fire-Rated, which satisfies the requirements for compliance in BS 8579:2020. These A-Rated systems are also highly durable, requiring low-maintenance outside of regular cleaning to maintain the high-quality aesthetic and design for decades.

All boards were supplied in our standard ‘Textured Sand’ using Class 2 powders only, this creates a Qualicoat Seaside finish that is superior to the normal Qualicoat standard, and regularly surpasses 3000hrs Acetic acid salt spray.

The decking system, also known as System 5, is also created using our Lite Joist and Adjustable Pedestal Brackets in order to achieve the required build-up height. The Lite Board Clip is then bolted to the Lite Joist, with the Lite Board clipped down into the fixing channel. The system will provide a 600m span between the centre of joist, however, Amson opted to allow for a 500m span between joists due to site limitations.

Across this project, the Amson team of highly-skilled installers were able to fully maximise the use of any off-cuts in order to prevent waste. This includes the use of additional lengths of material used to create the angle cuts required on the balconies and terraces around the building where required.

The system has created a durable and cost-effective solution that will last a minimum of 60 years. With sustainable construction a pressing matter within the industry, aluminium is a great way to ensure an eco-friendly installation as our boards are made from 67% recycled aluminium and are now 100% recyclable in the future.

Future residents will be grateful to know they are in safe hands and that their balcony or terrace area is not only fire-safe, but also futureproof In line with current regulations. This will provide a real peace of mind to the leaseholders and property manager. The aluminium decking will provide additional value to the building for decades to come.
