We are nearing completion of our latest remediation project at Aldwych House in London, where we supplied our aluminium decking solution- Junior Ridged Boards, Eco 50 Joists, Adjustable Pedestals with Carrier, Senior Ridged Boards, and Supa Joists. These products have been used to transform both the ground-floor communal terrace and the rooftop terrace, replacing deteriorating timber systems that had become unsafe and non-compliant.

Installed by our trusted partners Vesta Construction, the project has delivered non-combustible, slip-resistant, and low-maintenance aluminium systems that not only ensure compliance but also create functional, modern outdoor spaces for office workers to enjoy. Having already partnered successfully with Vesta at Bentick Street, this second collaboration once again shows how our high-performance products and their installation expertise deliver project success built-in.

Transforming the Ground-Floor Terrace with System 9

The ground-floor communal terrace was in urgent need of attention, with timber decking posing slip and fire risks we stepped in to provide a safe and future-proofed solution, supplying our System 9, powder-coated in RAL 7016 Anthracite Grey.

Installed by Vesta, the system has created a secure and visually appealing outdoor space. To further enhance the experience, integrated decking lights were fitted, making the terrace safer to navigate during evenings while also creating a welcoming atmosphere. This small but effective design feature elevates the area, turning it into a space where employees can relax, socialise, or simply take a break away from the office environment.

For building owners, this solution delivers long-term value by eliminating the costly cycle of replacing and maintaining timber. The aluminium system requires minimal upkeep, reducing running costs while guaranteeing safety and compliance.

Engineering Innovation on the Rooftop Terrace

The rooftop terrace presented the biggest challenge, with large spans of up to five metres demanding a system far stronger than traditional solutions. To overcome this, we supplied our Senior Ridged Decking Boards supported by a doubled-up Supa Joist system — a bespoke approach engineered specifically for this project.

This was a major innovation in the installation, as very few systems on the market can achieve such wide spans while maintaining complete structural integrity. By doubling the Supa Joists, we created a framework with exceptional strength, flexibility, and long-term stability, ensuring the rooftop could safely accommodate heavy use in an exposed environment.

This tailored solution demonstrates not only the robust performance of our aluminium systems but also the ingenuity we bring to remediation projects. It’s a perfect example of how AliDeck products adapt to complex challenges, providing safety, compliance, and durability where others fall short.

Vesta Construction’s skilled team carried out the installation across ramps, angled areas, and extra-long spans, which demanded careful precision to ensure compliance was maintained throughout. Safe, Compliant & Built to Last

Every system we supplied for Aldwych House complies with BS 8579:2020 and the Building Safety Act, achieving a Euroclass A2-s1, d0 and A2fl-s1 fire rating. With a 60-year design life, the terraces will remain safe, durable, and cost-effective long into the future.

All components were powder-coated in-house to Qualicoat Seaside Standard with a Class 2 finish, ensuring maximum protection against weathering and maintaining a premium finish for decades.
