Seaview Completes Balcony and Walkway Refurbishment at Norfolk & Suffolk House Using AliDeck’s Senior Board, Lite Joist and Deck-Level Drainage System | Aluminium Decking Solutions

A successful balcony and walkway transformation has been completed at the Norfolk & Suffolk House residential blocks, with AliDeck’s aluminium decking solutions specified for a comprehensive upgrade to multiple access areas. Working in collaboration with Seaview, we supplied a robust system comprising our Senior Board, Lite Joist and innovative deck-level drainage, achieving full compliance and long-term performance for residents and stakeholders alike.

This project reflects AliDeck’s ongoing mission to deliver cost-effective, futureproof, and regulation-compliant solutions to fire safety remediation challenges across the UK. As innovators in non-combustible balcony systems, our UK-manufactured, aluminium decking continues to set the standard in modern residential refurbishment.

Working alongside long-term partner Seaview, a specialist contractor with deep expertise in fire safety and external remediation, our team also supported the project from start to finish with hands-on technical guidance, including a final site sign-off survey to ensure full satisfaction and system approval. Seaview’s meticulous installation paired with AliDeck’s fast lead times and reliable supply chain helped to keep the project running smoothly and efficiently.

Senior Board System Installed for Enhanced Walkway & Balcony Performance

The Norfolk & Suffolk House project called for a durable, compliant, and aesthetically pleasing upgrade to outdated and weathered balconies and communal walkways. AliDeck’s Senior Balcony Board, supported by our Lite Joist and finished with deck-level drainage, provided the ideal solution to replace previously used combustible materials.

The aluminium Senior Board delivers exceptional strength with a generous 1200mm span and is well suited to high footfall communal spaces, offering excellent load performance across both balconies and walkways. With a non-combustible A2-s1, d0 and A2fl-s1 fire rating, it ensures complete compliance with BS 8579:2020 and the Building Safety Regulations (BSR), futureproofing the property’s outdoor access areas for decades to come.

Improved Drainage and Surface Water Management

In addition to decking and subframe, our deck-level drainage solution was fitted across walkways to control surface water runoff. Designed to sit seamlessly within the decking, this system prevents pooling and guides water into downpipes or guttering infrastructure without compromising aesthetics or underfoot safety.

The drainage system integrates directly with the AliDeck board profile and is also non-combustible, ensuring a full-scope solution across every layer of the build-up. With a 60-year minimum design life and little requirement for maintenance, it’s an ideal long-term upgrade for public access zones.

In-House Powder Coating and Quality Assurance at Every Step

All aluminium decking boards and accessories used at Norfolk & Suffolk House were powder-coated in-house at our Kent-based facility using our seven-stage pre-treatment system. We finish to Qualicoat Seaside Standard with a Class 2 Powder Coating, which offers superior resistance against corrosion, UV damage, and general wear. Our etching process ensures 2 grams per square metre adhesion, with a rigorous six-stage testing protocol to exceed industry expectations.

This end-to-end manufacturing approach allows us to tightly control quality and lead times—offering an unmatched supply advantage over competitors that import stock from overseas. By manufacturing and finishing in Britain, we’re proud to uphold the Made in Britain standard across every project.

The Norfolk & Suffolk House project stands as a textbook example of our ethos: project success built-in. The completed works now provide safe, attractive, and regulation-compliant balcony and walkway access—setting the benchmark for similar remediation works across the region.
