Project Preview: Remediating Aldwych House with Vesta Construction
We are excited to announce our latest project win at Aldwych House, marking our second collaboration with Vesta Construction following our successful remediation of Bentick Street. This project will focus on replacing the deteriorating timber decking across both the ground-floor communal terrace and rooftop terrace, ensuring the space is safe, compliant, and built to last. With our expertise in remediation across balconies, walkways, and terraces, we continue to provide high-quality solutions that deliver long-term durability and peace of mind for building owners and users alike.
Ground-Floor Terrace Remediation: Eliminating Risk & Enhancing Safety
The ground-floor communal terrace at Aldwych House has seen years of use, and the existing timber decking has now reached the end of its lifespan. Over time, timber can become unstable, slippery, and prone to rot, posing safety risks and making compliance increasingly difficult. To eliminate these risks and future-proof the space, we will be installing our System 9 aluminium decking solution, using Junior Ridged boards, Eco 50 Joists, and Adjustable Pedestals with Carrier, all finished in RAL 7016 Anthracite Grey.
By switching to our non-combustible, slip-resistant, and low-maintenance decking system, the communal terrace will be transformed into a safer, more durable, and visually striking space. This solution not only improves safety and compliance but also reduces ongoing maintenance costs, ensuring long-term value for the building owners and occupants.
Rooftop Terrace Upgrade: Strength & Stability for Large Spans
The rooftop terrace presents a more complex challenge, requiring the removal of ageing timber decking. Given the large open spans required for this space, we will be installing our Senior Ridged decking board, supported by a doubled-up Supa Joist system capable of spanning 5 metres. This system provides superior structural integrity, long-term stability, and resistance to weathering, making it ideal for an exposed rooftop environment.
By replacing the existing timber decking with our fire-rated, non-slip, and weatherproof aluminium system, the rooftop terrace will become a safe, modern, and low-maintenance outdoor space that can be used with confidence. The installation will not only meet the latest safety and compliance regulations but also create a more functional and aesthetically pleasing environment for office occupants to enjoy.
