The project as a whole presented a number of challenges; eight storeys high and with a largely curved exterior, Artesian House also featured numerous different wall types. AliDeck worked in partnership with Hamilton to provide the perfect curved balcony solution that met the compliance requirements without compromising the desired aesthetics of the building.

AliDeck’s contribution began with a detailed survey, calculations and sketches which were informed by numerous site visits. The Training Academy installation sessions were invaluable in making sure we achieved such a perfect finish.

As installations rely on specifying the ideal materials at the correct time, we work only with suppliers that are equally as committed to quality as Hamilton. All of Paul’s sketches and attention to detail certainly paid off and we look forward to working with AliDeck again.

Thank you for your support to date. Your materials and customer service are unrivalled. Our customers are pleased with the results of the new refurbished aluminium decking boards from ‘AliDeck’.

The existing wooden balcony decking boards fitted to the coastal apartments were outside of their life expectancy. The wood had split and was absorbent to water and the moist air. Our client requested the best price, aesthetics, and durability from any replacement materials. The EWS survey stated that non-combustible materials should be used when renewing the balcony flooring.

AliDeck were chosen as the supplier of balcony flooring as they ‘ticking all the boxes’ meeting all requirements. Their knowledge of both the materials and installation methods, allowed a hassle-free refurbishment process to take place.

The impenetrable aluminium surface is an added feature, allowing controlled evacuation of rainwater and other liquids. A notable safety feature to protect residents below the balcony. It has also been written into the mandatory specifications.

The hardest part of the process was removing the wooden boards due to coastal corrosion of the fixings. The easy part was laying the ‘lite board’ system. A simple clip and board method allows a speedy installation.

It was fantastic to be able to host Amanda, Libby, and Richard from AliDeck when they visited the BOAL plant recently.

We very much appreciate that it was a large commitment for them to take time out their busy schedules to make the trip to see the factory, we were keen to take the opportunity to provide Amanda, Libby, and the returning Richard, with an in-depth look at the extrusion process and the systems which back up everything that we do.

 

They enjoyed the time spent with Steven in the die shop. Steven is always keen to show off his die correction skills and methods, and he was looking forward to learning more about AliDeck from reading the BOAL newsletter piece.

It was also good to be able to spend that little bit more time getting to know our visitors as individuals and see that AliDeck and the team share similar values to BOA and enjoyed our discussions lunch together.

My experience with AliDeck was overall very positive. The system is very straightforward and offered a great finish to our project. However, the highlight of the process was Paul Townsend.

Paul offered support throughout the whole project, from the design concept to installation. He was often on-site and always available to discuss the best way forwards. When the proposal had to be amended to suit sloped insulation, Paul went the extra mile to calculate every single bracket height required so we could avoid wastage or installation delays due to lack of material. 

It is refreshing to see a sales representative who truly shows care and interest towards the success of the client and their projects.
